INVESTING IN YOUR FUTURE
Joining the residency program is an investment toward a career track in teaching. The INSPIRE TEXAS Residency is a yearlong teacher preparation program dedicated to supporting and training teacher candidates who are known as residents. Through our partnerships, we offer residents the opportunity to complete their credential coursework and clinical practice all within one district. Residents are carefully selected and matched to highly skilled mentor teachers who will guide and train them through co-planning, co-teaching, and having reflective conversations to provide valuable feedback. Our mentor teachers receive training on how to provide the best support. Teacher candidates participating in a residency program are more likely to stay in the teaching profession because they feel more confident and are better prepared when they get a classroom of their own. Residents also develop lasting bonds with their cohort group, the teachers they work with, and site administrators. Teachers collaborate and work together to build their capacity to increase student achievement. This is truly the best pathway to becoming a teacher!
