IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
The State Board of Education adopted the following requirement for the Standard School Counselor Certificate in Chapter 19 of the Texas Administrative Code Section §239.20: All school counselors must hold, at a minimum, a 48-hour master's degree in counseling from an accredited institution of higher education that at the time was accredited or otherwise approved by an accrediting organization recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
We are now partnering with the University of St. Thomas to offer a degree-seeking track for School Counselor. Please see here for UST information.
Please reach out to us at info@inspiretexas.net if you have a counselor degree but are not certified as a School Counselor in Texas.

Your role as a counselor is important in helping students be open to new possibilities and be more confident in their decisions. We offer the tools that will help you guide the children of Texas toward successful futures.
The INSPIRE TEXAS Counselor Certification Program teaches you how to advise students and assess their potential.
Your comprehensive training includes a 12-month supervised internship that can be completed anywhere in Texas. As an intern, you will complete approximately 360 hours of counselor program training, which includes coursework, seminars, field experience, and active research.
